One killed as gunmen invade Rivers state community

PORT HARCOURT - There is fear in Rumuche community in Emohua clan, Emohua Local Government area of Rivers State, as suspected assassins kill one person in the area. The unidentified gunmen who laid siege to the community, Thursday, with heavy gunfire murdered a resident of the area identified as Mr. Mini Ibuchim. It was gathered that the killers had stormed Rumuche community at about 6p.m and shot Ibuchim dead in front of his house. A cousin of the victim who related the incident to Vanguard said the murder had led to panic in the area. The relation of Ibuchim who pleaded anonymity said the actual cause of the killing was still unknown, adding that people of the community know the victim as a lover of peace. “Some gunmen just came into the community and killed Mr. Ibuchim whom everybody knows as somebody who does not have problem with anybody. “We are shocked that these hoodlums now operate even in broad day light. The killing has caused panic in Rumuche because we now go to bed earlier than before.
